My Everyday Makeup Routine

My makeup routine varies based on my mood and schedule. This past semester, I got into the habit of curling my lashes, adding a touch of blush, and calling it a day. Since I've been home on break, I've had more time to experiment with makeup, and it's become a fun part of my morning routine. My everyday makeup look only takes 5-10 minutes, and all the products are under $40!

In recent months, besides being my primary source of fashion inspiration, the Parisian style has greatly influenced my perception of beauty. The French minimalist approach to beauty has encouraged me to embrace and accentuate my natural features instead of using makeup to cover my flaws.

BRONZER: Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Bronzer - in Original Medium

I've been using this Benefit Cosmetics bronzer for the past five years, and it continues to be one of my favorite makeup products. Occasionally, I will use bronzer to lightly contour my face, but more often than not, I use this product in the crease of my eyelids and under my bottom lash line.

BLUSH: Ilia Multi-Stick - in Lady Bird

I never wore blush until six months ago because I didn't want to accentuate that part of my face. Now that I'm embracing a new mindset of using makeup to enhance my natural features, I love blush! I prefer to use cream blushes because they look more natural and provide a dewy finish. I received this Ilia blush for Christmas, and I've been using and loving it every day since. I apply this product to my cheeks (and occasionally lips) using my fingertips.

HIGHLIGHTER: Fenty Beauty Killawatt Foil Highlighter - in Fire Crystal

Similar to bronzer, highlighter is another product I use for unintended purposes. Recently, I've been using this highlighter as a shimmer eyeshadow. The Fenty Beauty highlighter is very pigmented, so I lightly apply it to the center of my eyelids to brighten my eyes.

I use the shade "sand castle", however, it's no longer sold. The shade pictured on the right is very similar.

MASCARA: L'Oréal Paris Telescopic Mascara - in Blackest Black

Eyelashes are my favorite part of my makeup routine. I've tried many mascaras over the years, but this is my current favorite. It's not the most volumizing mascara, but it adds length and holds a curl very well.

EYEBROWS: NYX Micro Brow Pencil - in Black

This is another product I've been using for the past five years. In terms of my everyday makeup, eyebrows are rarely part of the routine. However, I use this eyebrow pencil to fill in sparse areas on days I care a little more about my appearance.

LIPS: Rare Beauty Dewy Lip Balm - in Empathy

This tinted lip balm is my most recent beauty purchase, and so far, I have no complaints. It's a very hydrating formula, which makes it a great product for anyone (like me) with chapped lips. The shade Empathy is a beautiful rose color and not as bright pink as it appears online.
