Layered Looks for Early Spring

The past couple of weeks have brought beautiful blooms, sunny days..., and temperamental weather. Recently, Mother Nature has been teasing Delaware with a week of warm weather, followed by a week of rain and frigid temperatures. Although spring is my favorite season, early spring is one of the most challenging dressing periods. There are some days when I leave the apartment in my winter coat and come back an hour later regretting that decision.

I complained about this fickle weather to one of my roommates recently, and her response was, "Layers! You could probably write a blog post on that." So here we are; a blog post featuring four different layered looks for the transition season!

ONE:

This outfit is particularly useful for days that start on the chillier side and warm up significantly throughout the day. It's a short sleeve top, followed by a crewneck sweater, and topped off with a sweater blazer. Despite the possibility of winter-like temperatures, once it hits April, I try to avoid dark colors. So layered shades of pink are my go-to for a cozy, springy look.

TWO:

This sweater blazer was one of my best purchases! I had my eye on this neutral color for months and was so excited when it finally went on sale. This long sleeve top is pretty thin, so the thick blazer adds a nice layer of warmth. In addition to being a great option for spring, I've also worn this look for several Zoom interviews.

THREE:

Quite simply; a classic. Discovering the button-down and crewneck combo was a defining style moment for me in high school, and it remains one of my most worn looks. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed that I wear this sweater a lot. If the weather warrants it, I often opt for this sweater in place of a jacket.

FOUR:

This look is essentially the same crewneck and button-down combo as the previous outfit, just styled a little differently to accommodate for warmer weather and a preppier mood.
